JHS GRADUATE TECH CAMP

IT For Youth Ghana Collaborates with Ghana Education Service to Train JHS Graduates in Essential Technological Skills at JHS Graduate Tech Camp

IT For Youth Ghana is currently engaged in a productive collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, Office of Ga West, and Ga East Municipality to implement a JHS Graduate Tech Camp training program for girls in Junior High School (JHS) Graduates.

These girls, who are soon completing their BECE, face a three-month waiting period before their results are released. This period presents a unique opportunity for us to equip them with valuable technological skills.

In today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, equipping girls with IT skills is essential for enhancing their future career prospects and overall empowerment. Our organization firmly believes that every young person, regardless of gender, should have the opportunity to acquire these valuable skills. Additionally, by fostering an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among girls, we aim to bridge the gender gap in these fields and promote inclusivity and diversity. Moreover, our training will stimulate their interest in pursuing STEM programs in various senior high schools and empower them to fully leverage technological advancements.

IT For Youth Ghana Announces Two-Month Technology Training for JHS Graduates Starting July 16th at Multiple Locations

The training will commence on July 16th. Although our main venue is at our training center in Kwabenya, Musuku, most Municipality students can’t reach it due to distance. Thus, we are setting up other centers within the municipalities and will inform parents of their locations beforehand. As a result, the training program will last two (2) months.

Support Needed: Help Us Subsidize Training Fees to Empower JHS Graduates with Essential Digital Skills

The actual program fee is 500 GHS, but we are seeking your support to subsidize the cost by 350 GHS so that participants can afford fees of 150 GHS, ensuring maximum impact and enabling us to cover other costs of the program.

This will enable us to charge a minimal fee for students from low-income backgrounds to participate and make the program free for those who cannot afford it at all. This will also ensure that the majority of these young girls can benefit from the program.
